Disclosure Scotland has published new guidance on the PVG Scheme and Developing the Young Workforce.
The guidance is for:
- young people undertaking work placements
- placement organisers, such as schools
- placement providers, such as employers
- employers working in or with local schools
It explains when PVG scheme membership is required (and when it is not) for school work placements, independently arranged placements, and longer-term programmes such as Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Career Ready and Foundation Apprenticeships.
It also outlines employers’ responsibilities when supervising young people on placement or working in schools and colleges.
Additional information on the PVG scheme and Disclosure Scotland services is available in the resources section of the Disclosure Scotland website.
